I am quite satisfied with Complete Tax because this is about the only product that still supports Win98 OS. It is done online but you can log off anytime. When you log on again, you start where you left off. After a while it is almost like doing on line banking or bill pay.
I do my tax, file it and if no mistake occurs, I'll practically never see it again. I don't need ownership of the S/W. Your situation might be different. Even if you are doing more than one person's tax, you can still do it by substituting all the entries over and over again, and printing each copy out with the corresponding SS#. The only thing that you cannot do is saving each person's file on line. You can only save one set. (Otherwise I would have given it a 5-star).
So if you just want to stick with simple tax filing, not needing fancy interface and not willing to pay more, this is the answer.
When you buy this product you are not buying tax preparation software. It is only a one-time use internet connection to prepare one federal return and one state. I bought it and prepared one of my children's tax returns. In order to prepare another child's return, or my own, I was required to buy another license. Maybe if all you have to worry about is one return, your own, this is adequate, however if you need software for several returns in you family at $30 each this is a rip off.
